Why volunteer at Pride?
It takes a small army of volunteers to turn a field into a venue worthy of celebrating Northumberland Pride. For the weekend to run smoothly those volunteers are essential to make Northumberland Pride 2022 memorable. You’ve clicked on this page, so you must be curious? We need YOU to be one of our volunteers!
Whether it’s helping to set up the festival, stewarding for our 5k & 10k and family mile events; marshalling the parade or scanning tickets on the day, we want your help!
Volunteering with us is a great way to help us bring LGBT+ visibility to all corners of Northumberland and beyond. After a very successful scaled down Pride in Ashington last year, we need your assistance to make Pride in Blyth louder and prouder than ever!
We’ve got some fantastic entertainment lined up, on not one but THREE stages, a whole funfair on site, more market stalls than you can shake a Pride flag at, food vendors and so much more. What better way to get involved than by helping to make it all happen?
What’s in it for you?
You may need volunteering hours as part of an award you are working towards, a short stint of work experience or to help build your CV for a new job. Volunteering looks great because it shows that you’re the kind of person who goes above and beyond to serve their community. No matter which role you choose to take with us, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn new skills and be a part of a supportive and inclusive team.
We’ll fully train you to make sure you’re ready to take on any aspect of volunteering with us and overcome any challenges that may come up.
You’ll get to be a part of Northumberland Pride’s story as we go from strength to strength and grow year on year. Our volunteers play a huge part in helping bring inclusion, visibility and support in Northumberland and beyond.
And if you’re not already sold, we’ll throw in a volunteers’ goody bag; your own volunteer t-shirt, rainbow lanyard and hi-vis; all the food and snacks you need to keep you going throughout the day, a free ticket, and one huge thank you from all of us here at Northumberland Pride!
