Galop – National LGBT+ Domestic Abuse Helpline
Galop provide emotional and practical support for LGBT+ people experiencing domestic abuse. Abuse isn’t always physical- it can be psychological, emotional, financial, and sexual too. You can contact Galop by calling 0800 999 5428 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Find out Galop’s opening times here. There is currently a Trans specific service 1pm-5pm on a Tuesday.
Galop also currently have an online chat facility at their website 5pm-8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Northumberland Domestic Abuse Services (NDAS)
NDAS support anyone affected by domestic abuse in Northumberland via phone, email and web chat. Slowly starting to provide face-to-face appointments.
NDAS provide emotional and practical support – individually or as a group, advice about safety planning, finances, housing, welfare rights and domestic abuse and the law and information and signposting to a wide range of specialist local services. Visit NDAS online here.
Victims First Northumbria
Victims First Northumbria provide those affected by domestic abuse help and support to cope and recover from the difficult experience(s) they have faced.
This help and support depends on the victims needs such as those who have suffered deep psychological or emotional trauma; some may be vulnerable or suffer from a particular disability; people from particular ethnic groups may need culturally sympathetic support; people of different ages will have different needs to each other; some cases are more complex than others.

Mesmac North East
MESMAC is a gay/bisexual men’s health project offering free HIV tests, advice and information on many different health issues including PEP (exposure to HIV treatment), counselling, sexual health services, sexually transmitted infections and much more. They also provide services such as group helplines and a drop-in service.

Cygnus Support have been provide mental health and well-being services to people in Northumberland including counselling, psychotherapy, education and training. They have a centre in Ashington but also work from hubs across the county in Hexham, Berwick, Alnwick or Blyth

Surviving Economic Abuse is a UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it.
